A pricing proposal with one number is a yes or no question, and about half the answers to a yes or no question are no. This tool prices three options from the same rate and the same essential scope: the smallest version of the job that still solves the client's problem, a standard option with more scope, and a premium option with the most. Because all three come from one cost basis the differences are real and explainable, and the client's question changes from whether to which. The hours in each option are shown so you can write the scope to match.

Start from the essential option

The essential option is not a cheap version, it is the honest minimum: what has to be done for the client's problem to be solved. Price it properly from your rate and the hours it really takes. Everything above it is scope you add, not margin you inflate, and a client who picks it should get a complete piece of work rather than a demonstration of what they did not pay for.

Make the standard option the one you want them to choose

Most clients pick the middle. That is not a trick, it is how people choose when they cannot fully judge the work, so the standard option should be the one that serves them best and the one you most want to deliver. The uplift field sets how much more scope it carries; forty percent more hours than the essential is the worked example and gives a visible step without doubling the price.

Let the premium option do its job

The premium option anchors the other two and is bought less often than it is read. It should be a real offer, with scope you would be pleased to deliver, and it can carry a discount to reward the biggest commitment: the bundle discount field shows what you give up in exchange for the largest job. A premium option that is only there to make the middle look reasonable gets found out.

Pricing proposal: common questions

How many options should a pricing proposal have?

Three is the number that works: enough to give a choice, few enough to compare on one page. Two reads as a threat, four or more reads as a menu and the client stops reading. The tool prices exactly three from one rate and one base scope.

Should the options differ in price or in scope?

In scope, with the price following. Pricing the same scope three ways is just a discount ladder. Adding real deliverables at each step, more pages, more rounds, more channels, more support, is what lets a client see what the extra money buys and pick the option that fits.

What if the client only wants the cheapest option?

Then you have priced the essential option correctly and you deliver it well. That is a good outcome, not a failure: the point of the essential option is that it is complete, so a client who chooses it is a client, and clients who start small and are treated well come back for the standard option next time.
